Went out and took some footage of the high waters in Wichita. For those that don’t know, Wichita was built in essentially a wetlands. Prior to the construction of our current flood management infrastructure the “Big Ditch” the city regularly found itself under 2-4 feet of water between Ridge Rd and Hillside. Thanks to the insane amount of rain in the midwest the Arkansas and Little Arkansas have swelled up significantly but thanks to the Ditch they won’t get any higher than they are in this footage. I start at the Keeper of the Plains at the junction between the Arkansas and Little Arkansas and head upstream on the Little Arkansas through Riverside.
First attempt shooting something with the drone that wasn’t incredibly corporate. Drone is a DJI Mavic Pro shot with the DJI app.

Amphibious Caravan...drool
This is like the plane equivalent of a supercharged minivan-slash-hovercraft.

I got some premium riverside property that just came into existence in Tulsa. It’ll be a quiet community.
This flooding is ridiculous. And it’s only gonna get worse. I am glad I am in the hills.

In a couple weeks I’ll be in Wichita for a couple days for work. Should I bring a kayak instead of reserving a rental car?

Nah we’ll probably be in a drought by then.
